The Beginning

Texel sheep have been in Australia since 1993 when the first embryos were imported from the UK. Chris and his family were some of the first breeders to purchase these Texel embryos, and has since formed the basis for breeding Texels today.

Ewes from Longford, Bartex and Aveley Texel Studs were purchased to form Summit Park Texels in 2003.

In 2010 Chris, Tania and their children, Austin and Emma, moved to Hamilton from the Mortlake area to continue with their love of the land and Texel sheep.

Summit Maternals were soon added, and in 2015 a White Suffolk stud was registered to Summit Park to increase the range of sheep produced.
